Fanlisting defined

A fanlisting (FL) is a non-profit, non-commercial online listing of all fans of a certain subject, mostly for entertainment purposes. In this case, this site is an FL for the popular comic series X-treme X-Men.

Why bother with a fanlisting? For website owners, a fanlisting serves the same function as any other listing -- more exposure for your site, since it gives you more backlinks, possibly improving your pagerank. For non-website owners, it's a fun way to connect with other fans of the song. :) In other words, it's a fun way to let everyone know that you like this series; it's like a proclamation badge of your interests. :)

The Title

I chose "Defying Destiny" for this FL mostly because the short phrase has great significance for both the existence of the team, and the theme of the series. In the first story arc, the Xtreme X-Men team was initially formed by Storm to look for Destiny's Diaries, and actually try to control destiny by not letting them happen. Parties wanted to defy destiny, to manipulate it to the extent that characters were getting killed (don't worry, they were brought back) as a test of verity of the Diaries. And in the multiple story arcs that have been spun from this team concerning the X-Men missions and the X-Team's relationships (re: personal lives), the one resounding theme that ties them together is their constant effort to try to fight against fate -- an activism effected by the virtue conferred upon them by simply being X-Men. ;)
